Concentrated growth factors improve treatment of periodontal intrabony defects
A new research article suggests concentrated growth factors combined with bovine porous bone mineral is more effective than bovine porous bone mineral alone for periodontal regeneration
Researchers from Peking University School & Hospital of Stomatology (Beijing, China), have released new research in Future Science OA examining the effects of concentrated growth factors (CGFs) in human intrabony defect treatment.
Examining 31 defects across 17 patients, intrabony defects were grafted with either CGFs plus bovine porous bone mineral (BPBM; n = 15) or BPBM alone (n = 16). While all sites healed, the CGF + BPBM group exhibited improved clinical and radiographic parameters at 1 year after surgery.
