The ISSCR annual meeting is the world’s largest gathering of stem cell scientists, and in 2018 the meeting will be held in Melbourne, AU, 20-23 June, at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Center.
The meeting brings together some 3500 stem cell researchers and clinicians from around the world to share the latest developments in stem cell research and regenerative medicine. Lectures, workshops, poster presentations, and a dynamic exhibition floor, showcase recent findings, technological advances, trends, and innovations that are moving the field forward.

The presidential symposium and plenary presentations include distinguished speakers from around the world who will focus on new technologies in stem cell engineering, stem cell based disease modeling, cancer stem cells, science moving to the clinic, and more. The scientific program was developed by ISSCR President Hans Clevers, Hubrecht Institute, the Netherlands, and the ISSCR Program Committee, chaired by Melissa Little, Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, Australia. Among the featured speakers are Jennifer Doudna, UCLA, Berkeley and HHMI, USA, Alexander van Oudenaarden, Hubrecht Institute, the Netherlands and Mitinori Saitou, Kyoto University, Japan.
A full-day, pre-meeting educational session, on 19 June, “Clinical Advances in Stem Cell Research: Emerging Technologies and Cellular Therapies,” is designed for physicians, physician-scientists and those interested in the latest clinical applications of stem cell research. It will explore current cellular therapies and those moving toward the clinic, as well as emerging technologies and their potential impact on clinical practice.
Concurrent sessions feature new and innovative developments across the breadth of the field, and incorporate more than 80 abstract-selected speakers. Other meeting offerings include career development sessions and networking opportunities. A full listing of the ISSCR 2018 meeting programming can be found at ISSCR2018.org.
