This issue’s free to access editorial is “Regenerating blood: towards engineering HIV-1-resistant hematopoietic stem cells” written by Gero Hütter.

As always, Dusko Ilic has kindly contributed to an Industry Update, describing the latest developments in the field of regenerative medicine as well as a Methodology paper entitled “Wharton's jelly mesenchymal stromal/stem cells derived under chemically defined animal product-free low oxygen conditions are rich in MSCA-1+ subpopulation”.

Furthermore, the issue contains a number of Research Articles, including “Periadventitial adipose-derived stem cell treatment halts elastase-induced abdominal aortic aneurysm progression” by Kory J Blose et al. and some very interesting Special Reports such as “Operating RegenMed: development of better in-theater strategies for handling tissue-engineered organs and tissues” by Jonathan Fishman et al.
