About Macopharma’s Biotherapy

With over 40 years of experience in Transfusion, Macopharma now embraces the promising future of Biotherapies by developing a wide range of cutting-edge products dedicated to cellular therapy and regenerative medecine.

Macopharma’s Biotherapy division encompasses 5 ranges specialized on cell culture, bio banking, cord blood, transplant and cell treatment which provide solutions for every step of the cellular therapy process from collection, processing, expansion and cryopreservation of stem cells, up to the treatment and transplantation of cells or organs to patients.

One of our most regarded range at the moment is the Cell Culture range with the launch, some 2 years ago, of a truly ground-breaking product: human Platelet Lysate.

What’s new on Macopharma’s cell culture?

Human Platelet Lysate is a culture supplement that enhances the expansion of different cell types. It is validated with mesenchymal stem cells and it can be used with a variety of other cell types such as fibroblasts, keratinocytes and adipocytes.

Macopharma’s pioneering spirit allowed its teams to develop one of the first available commercial platelet lysate: MultiPL’30, that can be both used for research and clinical application.

At Macopharma we are convinced that this product leads the way to an entirely new approach to cell culture with a xeno-free cell culture where every product is proven efficient, safe and standardized.

In addition, to secure and facilitate expansion of cell therapy product Macopharma worked in collaboration with Corning Life Sciences to develop the MC3 system, a unique closed system, ready to use, adapted to each step of adherent stem cell culture.

The MC3 system comes along with a whole range of kits and media for cell seeding, medium exchange and harvesting. All these disposables are designed and produced in accordance with GMP specifications.

Driven by its desire for innovation, Macopharma enters the year 2017 with many ongoing projects aiming to revolutionize cell culture!
