Cleveland Clinic (OH, USA) has announced US FDA approval for patient-specific 3D-printed airway stents to be used in patients with serious breathing disorders. Cleveland Clinic (OH, USA) has announced that 3D-printed airway stents, designed by Physician, Tom Gildea (Cleveland Clinic), have received US FDA approval. Previously approved under the US FDA's compassionate use program for investigational use, the patient-specific stents are used to keep the airways open in patients with conditions which may constrict the airways due to inflammation, masses, trauma or tumors.
