3D printing utilized to produce custom stents for patients with stenosis

A hospital and a 3D printing company (both Toulouse, France) have partnered to produce custom stents which are anatomically identical to a patients' airway and are currently being utilized in clinical trials with positive results. In a collaboration between Toulouse University Hospital and AnatomikModeling2 (both Toulouse, France), researchers have utilized 3D printing to develop and implant stents that are anatomically identical to a patients' trachea and/or bronchi.
