An interview with Boštjan Vihar (Institute IRNAS) on the current state and future prospects of 3D bioprinting, at the 3D Medical Expo in Maastricht (30—31 January, The Netherlands). I studied Biology at the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia) and RWTH Aachen (Germany) where I obtained a PhD. I gathered experience at JKU Linz (Austria) and the University of Maribor (Slovenia). I currently work at Institute IRNAS (Maribor, Slovenia), which is a research and development based non-profit institution. We share our workspace in tandem with Fabrikor Ltd.
