For the first time, soundwaves are being utilized in the control of droplet size and formation to refine methods for printing liquids, including biopharmaceuticals. Researchers at the John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Harvard University (MA, US) have designed and developed a novel technology for the controlled and refined printing of liquid droplets. The technology has great potential for application in printing biopharmaceuticals, as well in the manufacture of cosmetics and food.
