A collaborative team of Danish and German researchers have bioprinted a gel material incorporating oxygen sensitive nanoparticles, which can be used for 3D printing of complex biofilm and tissue-like structures. The study, published in Advanced Functional Materials, describes the development of a functionalized bioink, via the implementation of luminescent oxygen sensitive nanoparticles into the print matrix.
