Dusko Ilic

Dusko Ilic completed medical school and earned his BSc in Molecular Biology at the University of Belgrade (Serbia) and later earned his PhD at the University of Tokyo (Japan). He has worked in the United States, both in academia and industry. During his academic career, he held the position of Associate Adjunct Professor at the University of California, San Francisco (CA, USA) and served as a Research Consultant at the Dermatology Service in the Veteran Affairs Medical Center, San Francisco (CA, USA). Dusko was also the Director of R&D at StemLifeLine (CA, US) and a technical co-founder and advisor to VitroLabs (CA, USA), a tissue engineering company.

Currently, Dusko holds the position of Professor of Stem Cell Science at King’s College London (London, UK). In addition, he serves as the Academic Chair for Student-led Sustainability Innovation at the Circle U. European University Alliance. Dusko’s work focuses on the translational aspects of human reproduction, stem cell research and the development of sustainable technologies. Dusko is an active member of the editorial board of the journal Regenerative Medicine, where he writes the Industry Report, a regular feature compiling information from non-academic institutions in the field of stem cells and regenerative medicine.

 

Ebony Torrington 

Ebony Torrington studied Biological Sciences BSc-Hons at Bournemouth University (UK). She joined Future Science Group as a Commissioning Editor in 2018, working on publications including Personalized Medicine, Immunotherapy and Biomarkers in Medicine, before progressing to become Managing Editor of BioTechniques. Ebony is now the Head of Editorial where she manages the Editorial team, overseeing a portfolio of 36 journals that cover an array of research from basic laboratory studies through to clinical trials.

Ebony directs editorial policy internally to ensure industry standards are upheld and a high standard of publishing is maintained across the portfolio. Ebony directs the team’s strategy to ensure wider company objectives are met by tracking usage, submissions and journal KPIs. She works closely with external stakeholders such as advisory boards, editorial assistants and peer reviewers to ensure the smooth running of a functional Editorial department.

Criteria for nominations:

  • Anyone can nominate!
  • Nominees can be selected from academia or industry, in any area of regenerative medicine
  • Nominees must be aged 35 years or under, or be in the first 5 years of their career in regenerative medicine
  • Qualifying candidates will be invited to complete a second questionnaire by 16th October

The winner will receive:

  • Free 1-year subscription to the Regenerative Medicine journal
  • An interview on RegMedNet
  • A copy of the Glossary of Advanced Therapies 6th Edition
