In this interview with Richard Cooper, Lead of the Additive Manufacturing Special Interest Group with the Knowledge Transfer Network (UK), 3DMedNet explores the process and key challenges associated with 3D printing and innovation in the NHS (UK).

Biography 

Richard Cooper joined the Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN, UK) in May 2017 after 20 years working in various industrial R&D roles in the steel sector. Since April 2018 he has been leading the Additive Manufacturing Special Interest Group (SIG) in the KTN. The SIG continues to hold successful events, both to engage new SMEs in joining the AM journey and specific sector-based events to share knowledge and assimilate input for the future of AM in the UK. His academic background is a Physics PhD followed by an MBA.

“I guess my advice, firstly, would be to connect with the clinicians etc, because at the of the day, you need buy-in from the people who are actually going to adopt it…”
