1st Stem Cell Community Day: Bioprocessing Technologies in Stem Cell Research: Challenges and Chances for Commercialization

Written by Eppendorf

A one-day scientific event to discuss recent advances in the stem cells field, with a special focus on controlled cultivation in bioreactors

Stem cell-based technologies lay the basis for pioneering approaches in regenerative medicine, drug screening, and toxicology testing. Their commercial use requires reliable methods for the large-scale production of stem cells in consistent quality.

The 1st Stem Cell Community Day bring together experts from industry and academia, to discuss recent achievements, challenges, and chances in stem cell bioprocessing for research and commercial manufacturing.

In three sessions attendees will discuss the state of the art in stem cell research and bioprocessing, commercial manufacturing of stem cell-based products, and the application of upstream and downstream processing techniques to stem cells.

Confirmed speakers:
– Keynote lecture: Steve Oh (Stem Cells & Bioprocessing Technology Institute, Singapore)
– Ricardo Baptista (Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult, United Kingdom)
РAna Margarida Fernandes-Platzgummer (Instituto Superior T̩chnico, Portugal)

Conference chair:
– Robert Zweigerdt (MH Hannover, Germany)

Date and Venue:
Join the event on April 4, 2017 at the Crowne Plaza Hamburg City Alster and take the chance to discuss the latest achievements in stem cell bioprocessing. Online registration is open until March 29, 2017.
