3D-printed model enables investigation into the link between COVID-19 and risk of stroke

A team of scientists from the University of California – Los Angeles (UCLA; CA, USA) has utilized a 3D-printed model of the arteries from a patient who had suffered a stroke, to investigate the relationship between COVID-19 and increased stroke risk. The team explained in Stroke that while respiratory symptoms were common in patients with COVID-19, strokes had also been reported in younger people with no apparent risk factors.
