BASF and CTIBiotech eye 3D printing to advance model for skin care testing
The 3D bioprinted model could build on existing research in the development of 3D models of sebaceous glands. In comments made in a press release marking the release of results of 3D human sebaceous gland model testing, Professor Colin McGuckin, Chief Scientific Officer and President of CTIBiotech (Lyon, France) has indicated that the next iterations of the models could have a high-tech approach. “The next evolution of the sebaceous gland model will be based on a 3D bio-printing technology that allows us to fully reproduce micro-glands into a full thickness skin model, in vitro”, he explained.
