Bioprinted blood vessels could lead to drug development progress

A team of researchers at Texas A&M University (TX, USA) have developed and grown a bioprinted blood vessel able to mimic specific states of health and disease, allowing for the possibility of precision cardiovascular drug advancements. Aneurysms, peripheral artery disease and blood clots make up vascular diseases that account for 31% of global deaths. However, progress in drug development for vascular diseases has not seen a similar growth.
