Colorectal cancer organoids bioprinted to inform tumor growth research

Scientists from the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine (WFIRM; NC, USA) have developed colorectal cancer organoids to aid research into tumor growth and response to therapeutics. Described in Scientific Reports, the organoids will allow for the observation of native tumor tissues in a natural microenvironment, reportedly in a world first, as researchers are able to validate findings in the context of whole-body physiology.
