Could 3D-printed neural implants link brains to computers?

A collaborative team of researchers from the University of Sheffield (UK), St Petersburg State University (Russia) and Technische Universität Dresden (Germany) has developed 3D-printed neural implants that could be used for the development of treatments for problems associated with the nervous system. Described in Nature Biomedical Engineering, a prototype of an implant has been capable of stimulating the spinal cord of animal models with spinal cord injuries.
