3D printing has been utilized to produce the award winning plastic robot Stormram 4, which is capable of obtaining accurate biopsies during MRI scans. Stormram 4, a 3D printed biopsy robot was developed by researchers from the University of Twente's Robotics and Mechatronics laboratory (Enschede, Netherlands). The robot has been designed to be suitable for clinical practice and features real-time MRI scanning and a single, thin-needle for obtaining biopsies and enables quicker and more accurate diagnoses to be made. Not all robots can be used with MRI scanners and, for this reason, the Stormram 4 is made entirely of plastic....
