Ruth Goodridge is Professor of Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) at the University of Nottingham. She is currently on secondment to Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, based in Clinical Engineering and Medical Physics. With a degree in Biomaterials and PhD in Bioengineering, she has a particular interest in the medical applications of Additive Manufacturing, including assistive and rehabilitation devices (including prosthetics), implants and diagnostics. She has 20 years experience in multidisciplinary research into Additive Manufacturing, including a 2-year JSPS fellowship held at NAIST, Japan.  Her expertise lies in material development for AM and advancing understanding of coupled material-processing aspects, in particular for powder bed fusion. She works with a range of clinical and industrial partners through research council and industrially funded projects, and leads a Medilink SIG in Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing in Healthcare, bringing together academics, clinicians and industry.

Goodridge also maintains a position on the Editorial Board of Future Science Group publication, the Journal of 3D Printing in Medicine.
