Heart cells created from stem cells with 3D-printed micro-scale device
Scientists from Singapore University of Technology and Design have developed a 3D-printed micro-scaled device to control stem cell differentiation of embryoid bodies, creating heart cells. In previous regenerative medicine investigations, controlling the differentiation of stem cells is crucial. Stem cells could be used to allow for the growth and repair of tissues and organs, particularly for those with very limited abilities to replicate, such as the heart.
