Professor Dame Julia Polak, the pioneer and champion of tissue engineering, has died at age 75

Professor Dame Julia Polak (Imperial College London), the pioneer and champion of tissue engineering, died peacefully in her sleep on Monday 11th August 2014.

Dame Julia served on the “Regenerative Medicine” Editorial Board since the journal’s inception in 2006. Her contributions, expert advice and most importantly her robust support over the years have been invaluable to the success of the journal.
