ANNE CARPENTER Director, Imaging Platform Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT High-Content Morphology Profiling for Targeting Diseases and Characterizing Compounds Biography - Anne leads the Imaging Platform at the Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT, a team of biologists and computer scientists who develop image analysis and data mining methods and software that are freely available through the open-source CellProfiler project (www.cellprofiler.org). She collaborates with dozens of biomedical research groups around the world to help identify disease states, potential therapeutics, and gene function from microscopy images. She is a Massachusetts Academy of Sciences fellow, an NSF CAREER awardee, and has been funded by the NIH, Human Frontiers in Science, and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.

Davide Danovi

Director, HipSci Cell Phenotyping, King's College London

Dr. Davide Danovi leads the Cell Phenotyping Programme at King's College London within the HipSci project. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Before, he worked with Prof. Austin Smith and Dr. Steve Pollard at the University of Cambridge and at University College London where he developed a live image based chemical screening platform to isolate compounds active on human neural stem cells from normal or brain tumour samples. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Prior to his current role, he was principal scientist at Progenitor Labs, a novel biotechnology company at the Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - He holds an MD from University of Milan and a PhD in Molecular Oncology from the European Institute of Oncology where he demonstrated the causative role of the HdmX protein in human cancer.
