Over 11 million people worldwide are estimated to live with Parkinson’s disease, the fastest growing neurological condition in the world. Taking place annually on 11 April, World Parkinson’s Day aims to promote research and support for those living with the condition. Parkinson’s disease, a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by tremors, stiffness and slowed movement, is primarily caused by the loss of dopamine-producing neurons in the brain.
