BellaSeno and Fraunhofer IPT receive grant to support commercial scaling of 3D printing

BellaSeno (Leipzig, Germany), the 3D printing company behind the Senella® resorbable tissue implants, and the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology (IPT) (Aachen, Germany) have been jointly awarded a EUR 1.4 million grant from Germany’s Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Berlin, Germany). The grant is in support of establishing an industrial manufacturing platform for additive manufacturing of BellaSeno’s medical implant technologies. The manufacturing process, which usually requires user input at several key steps, will utilize robotics and automation to improve the safety and sterility of the medical implants.
