Pediatric 3D-printed surgical guides receive FDA approval

3D printing has been utilized to create patient-specific pediatric radius and ulna osteotomy guides after manufacturer receives FDA approval. Materialise has received clearance to produce patient-specific 3D printed radius and ulna osteotomy surgery guides for children as young as seven years old. This would allow orthopedic surgeons to better understand and execute the most complicated cases as the 3D printed guides can be used with 3D pre-operative planning to allow surgeons to better prepare and plan for surgeries.
