Researchers have developed a 3D bioprinted skin model of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma to test the chemotherapeutic effects in tissues. Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma, the second most common form of skin cancer, causes around 10,000 deaths every year in the US alone. Current therapies are largely ineffective against the disease and so there is a pressing need for the development of novel, effective and non-toxic treatments.
